When the air is becoming colder and crisper and the leaves are changing their color, you know for sure that Halloween is just around the corner. And what better way to welcome the holiday than to have spooky and fun parties? After all, you can still enjoy it even though you’re past the age to trick-or-treat around your neighborhood.
Here, we list some must-visit Halloween parties and events in or near Rancho Cordova.
Shannon McCabe’s 13th Annual Vampire Ball
Location: Harlow’s Restaurant & Nightclub, 2708 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95816

Last year, one of the most well-anticipated Halloween events in Northern California was canceled due to COVID-19 safety protocol. Fortunately, this year’s event will push through, although guests are still expected to follow CDC requirements such as the use of masks and vaccination cards.
As a vampire-themed Halloween party, organizers require attendees to don their coolest vampire or gothic costumes (this means no superheroes and “period” costumes, sorry guys!)
What’s in store: Vampire-themed cocktails and drinks, private lounges, gothic rock bands that include Ashes Fallen and A Death in Bloom, music DJs, performers (including a fire dancer and a performance showing a vampire ritual), and vendors.
The vampire-themed venue also includes colored lighting, fountains, fire pits, and a candle-lit patio.
To make sure that you stick to the dress code, the organizers recommend the following costumes: gothic attire, tuxedos, top hats, Mardi Gras masks, cloaks, corsets, latex, cocktail dresses, ball gowns, Victorian fashion, all-black classic suits, and arguably the most important of all–fangs.
Nightmare Before Halloween

Hosted by Park Ultra Lounge, this Halloween costume party will be filled with music, spooky decorations, and a UV blacklight dance room. There will also be a costume contest with a $1,000 prize, so make sure that you’re the best-dressed monster, witch, vampire, ghoul, or whatever you may want to be–just make sure that you don’t have weapon props or toy guns since they are not allowed in the venue. Meanwhile, costumes are not strictly required.
For the costume contest, the first-place winner gets $1,000, a VIP Gold VIP table for ten valued at $400 for the second placer, and a $100 gift card for the third placer.
Lost in Space Halloween 2021

Park Ultra Lounge is throwing a Halloween costume party. This party will feature special guest DJs CROOKED and DM. The event will also have music and dancing.
The event will have a costume contest. The first-place winner gets $1,000. Second place wins a VIP Gold VIP table for ten valued at $400. Third place receives a $100 gift card. Attendees can wear costumes, but it’s not mandatory. The organizers prohibit the use of weapon props or toy guns.
